In April 2018 Dave Davignon and Armine Tahmassian began to build ideas and test. Inspired by fellow gamers and successful Kickstarter projects, we played, learned, dreamt, and tested.

Hoki struck on June 14th 2020 at 2:57am after roughly 2 years of exploration. It came from a 14 year old memory of a camping trip, an addictive solitaire game from two close friends and their Grammy who taught it to them. As it turns out, fortune telling and solitaire share some origins. We connected fortune telling to Armine’s Armenian culture, which inspired Hoki’s theme.

Mek Mek is a common Armenian expression meaning “sometimes,” and literally “one, one.” This described us well during development. “Sometimes,” soon became, “every free moment we have,” but it was still the two of us throughout.

Mek Mek has a focus on quality, novelty, and psychology. We hope to continue to deliver new experiences that you will always enjoy. - Armine and Dave
